The main job of most pieces of content marketing is to improve the Google ranking of a particular website. Many pieces of marketing are written with a particular search query, or set of queries, in mind. However, the content isn’t the sole thing you have to get right for a good ranking. Here are a few other things you need to consider.
Firstly, make sure your site is technically up to scratch. This means knowing that it looks good on mobiles and all sorts of screen sizes, that it loads quickly and is easy to navigate. Google and other major search engines will penalize you if any of these boxes aren’t ticked and all of your content marketing efforts will be at risk of going to waste.
Next, make sure there is some buzz around the content that you are creating and that you’re getting some inbound links from other websites. You can do this through an effective social media campaign and by showing off the credentials of the people who are writing or endorsing your content, so make sure that you do both!
